Giving feedback is a simple way to demonstrate professionalism.
Today, let’s talk about showing feedback, its importance, and the give-and-take of it.
When you show a property, of course, you’re going through Showing Time. In Showing Time, we’ll ask for feedback in three ways: one voluntarily through your app, two through an email, or three from you logging in to your desktop and giving feedback. The fourth way is when you won’t respond to any of those; you’ll get a phone call or a text.
“Feedback should be concise, informative, and polite. ”
Why is feedback important, and why would you want to give it? No. 1 is someday, you may have a listing and need that feedback. So the courtesy is to provide feedback. No. 2 is that your buyer has certain thoughts about that property, and it is good information for the agent to know about that listing and share with their seller.
Feedback should be constructive, to the point, and address condition and price. Be concise, informative, and polite. Do not use it for your mode of communication with the other agent. You can do that in Showing Time by sending them a message. If there is a problem with the property, do not put that in the feedback. Be kind enough to pick up the phone and call the agent or send them a message directly through the Showing Time app.
I always like to say: Do unto others as you would like to have done unto you. Some people think it’s fun or cute, or in my opinion, unprofessional to put slanted comments in there or to put issues in there. It’s really not the appropriate place. It is truly feedback about the property, and there are other methods to do that.
So I’m going to ask all of you to take some time and actually give feedback. If you have questions about today’s topic or anything else, please call or email me. I am always willing to help!
